| "In The Late Show I played Laura Birdwell, the very dangerous character. Art Carney and I would sit in his trailer for hours laughing and telling stories. What a time. If only I had taped our conversations. I was pleased he felt so comfortable with me because in real life he was quite shy, actually a characteristic of many actors. Lilly Tomlin was intensely wonderful and was a little jealous of Laura. I think the competition for Art gave her a lot of juice in the film. I'm very proud of this little film noir." Joanna |
